Šenkovala šenkárička nové víno, 

prišel za ňú mysliveček: ulej mi ho.

Šenkárička nalieva, myslivec ju objíma, 

a ten její najmilejší sa im dzíva.

Nech ja to viac, moja milá, neuvidzim, 

že by si sa objímala s každým iným! 

Myslivec sa rozhneval, vytáhel meč, do nej vťal, 

ani jeden, ani druhý jej nedostal.

The barmaid was pouring the new wine, see;

a hunter came up to her; pour one for me.

The barmaid was pouring the hunter embraced her,

just when her dearest darling faced her.

No more, my love, let me never see

you embracing anyone else but me!

The hunter stabbed her with furious knife;

none of the tow had her to wife.
